Assistant Professor of Sport Management

The Sport Management Department at Lasell College seeks an Assistant Professor of Sport Management for Fall 2015. Candidate must display expertise in the sport management field, exhibit excellence in teaching, and embrace the connected learning philosophy. Professional experience working in the sports industry is a plus. More senior rank will be considered based on experience and other credentials.

 The candidate must have the ability and desire to teach Undergraduate and Graduate courses, teaching expertise in several of the sport management disciplines including sport administration and sport governance, sport finance, legal aspects of sport, globalization/internationalization of sport, sport marketing, or sports information and communications. The teaching of additional courses will be based on interest and expertise and may include research methods and Capstone project/paper supervision. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence and enthusiasm in teaching and student advocacy; the ability to work cooperatively and productively with students, faculty, and staff; a commitment to productivity and professional development; and active engagement in student advisement, departmental and college service including but not limited to faculty standing committees, assessment, program accreditation through COSMA, and membership in NASSM. 

 An earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in sport management or related field. ABD applicants will also be considered. Faculty at Lasell are employed on renewable single and multi-year contracts.  Minority  candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

State Board of Higher Education Approves New Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice  Wednesday, December 17, 2014The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education has approved a new Master’s degree in Criminal Justice at Lasell that will offer students multiple concentrations in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Violence Prevention and Advocacy as well as a flexible Criminal Justice option. The online program launches in Fall 2015.
