Nurse Practitioner

Working within a student development framework, the professionals in the Student Affairs division at Lasell College strive to create an environment wherein students' learning is supported and their individual growth is enhanced. Lasell College is searching for a talented individual to join the College community in the position of Nurse Practitioner in the Office of Health Services. The position is currently available, with a start date to be determined.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Health Services, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing quality, primary care to the undergraduate students at Lasell College, and designing/implementing health education programs. Specific responsibilities include: provision of competent, confidential, and respectful direct patient care; providing counseling around issues of sexual health, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections; provision of treatment recommendations and prescription(s) for appropriate medications; consultation, as needed, with colleagues across campus; and design and delivery of health-related programs and presentations. This is a full-time, ten-month position, working between mid-August and mid-June.

Qualifications: Master's Degree required (Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner); current MA license for RN/NP, with eligibility for DEA/MDPH prescriptive authority, required; Health Care Provider CPR certification, required. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of one to three years of pertinent, primary health care experience, ideally in the college/university setting; will have experience working with electronic medical records (preferably Medicat); will have the ability to perform phlebotomy and other CLIA waved tests; will have strong interpersonal skills and will be able to interact effectively with a diverse population; and will have experience developing and presenting educational programs and presentations.


Average physical effort with some handling of light weights such as supplies or materials on an infrequent basis (10 - 15 lbs.).

Average visual effort with infrequent exposure to visually demanding work.

Work performed in an environment with correctable conditions such as lighting and room temperature.

Normally, no exposure to job hazards; probability of injury is remote.
