Coordinator of Educational and Intergenerational Programming- Lasell Village

The Coordinator of Educational and Intergenerational Programming is the administrative backbone of the Education Department at Lasell Village. The Coordinator provides a wide range of operational and administrative support to the Education Department and Lasell Village residents. Reporting to the Director of Intergenerational Education, the Coordinator supports the administrative needs of the Village's educational programs, classes, events, and related projects. This position interfaces regularly with staff, Village course leaders and faculty at Lasell College, and the Holway Child Study Centers at Rockwell and The Barn on the Lasell College campus. On a daily basis, the Coordinator provides welcoming customer service for residents. The right person for this position will enjoy working with seniors and ensure that the many details of an innovative and wide-ranging education program run smoothly. The Coordinator will have opportunities to serve as project manager on special educational projects, and to contribute to the educational vision for the Village. Critical requirements of this position include superb organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.   • Works with Fuss Center Director, Lasell Village course leaders, Lasell College faculty and Holway Child Study Center staff to encourage and promote frequent intergenerational events
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for the Education office (greets all visitors and receives/returns phone calls)
  • Oversees initiation and administrative support for a wide range of educational and intergenerational events and activities
  • Provides administrative support for course leaders and Director
  • Provides administrative support to the Village education inter-disciplinary task force
  • Supports Lasell Village faculty through room preparation and teacher materials to ensure that classes and events occur as scheduled
  • Provides administrative support for a comprehensive orientation for new residents to expose residents to the wide range of educational offerings
  • Responds appropriately and in a timely manner to mail and electronic communications
  • Encourages resident completion of yearly learning plans and yearly reporting , filing promptly to maintain good educational records
  • Arranges for timely delivery of class materials, including book orders, to students; schedule and play course related films on the in-house closed circuit TV
  • Recommends ways to broaden and expand the variety and types of educational and intergenerational offerings across campus
  • Assists Director with thrice-yearly registration events
  • Initiates new ways to use technology to improve the effectiveness of functions within the education department, including course registration, intergenerational courses and event registration, annual reporting, and faculty evaluations
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident's records
  • Maintains general supplies for department


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role


  • Thrive in a team environment and work well with others
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and correct use of the English language
  • Excellent interpersonal, intuition, organizational, and English oral/written communication skills required
  • Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented and have the ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments
  • Requires ability to exercise exceptional discretion, confidentiality, and judgment in dealing with sensitive issues
  • Ability to assess and resolve problems and/or redirect as appropriate
  • Initiative, creativity, resourcefulness, sense of humor, patience, and the ability to think independently are essential characteristics of the person in this position
