Clinical Counselor

Working within a student development framework, the professionals in the Student Affairs division at Lasell College strive to create an environment wherein students' learning is supported and their individual growth is enhanced. The Counseling Center currently has an opening for a talented individual to join the College community in the position of Clinical Counselor. The position is currently available.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of the Counseling Center, specific responsibilities include: providing direct service, short-term counseling to members of the Lasell College student body; coordinating care with collateral off-campus providers, as necessary; maintaining client records, including case documentation in confidential files, and scheduling and data collection through the Titanium software; consulting with various members of the Lasell College community; and providing psycho-educational, developmental programming upon request.

Qualifications: A master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, pastoral counseling, or higher education is required, as well as a minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in mental health counseling. Candidates must hold current professional licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or be license-eligible, and must be able to work effectively with a diverse population. Preferred candidates will have professional counseling experience in a college or university setting; and will demonstrate a sound knowledge base in student development, and adolescent/ young adult development

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

Physical:
Average physical effort with some handling of light weights such as supplies or materials on an infrequent basis (10 - 15 lbs.).

Visual:
Average visual effort with infrequent exposure to visually demanding work.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work performed in an environment with correctable conditions such as lighting and room temperature.

Hazards:
Normally, no exposure to job hazards; probability of injury is remote.
