Associate Director of Data Services

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
Provides support for fundraising programs, campaigns, alumni relations, and events of Lasell's Office of Development and Alumni Relations. The position is responsible for enhancing technical support for the DAR team's work, particularly the development, maintenance and administration of the Salesforce advancement database, the transition to Silver Pop and Click n' Pledge, internal reporting, prospect research and user training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and manage database for the DAR Office, including tracking donor and prospect information, generating standard and custom reports and queries, improving and implementing new database features.
• Help establish priorities for enrichment of constituent data and lead effort to continuously improve information contained in Salesforce.
• Continuously improve prospect research operations to support campaign and annual fund related activities.
• Work with Director of Support Services to ensure proper receipting of gifts.
• Utilizing SQL and Microsoft Reporting Services, Excel, and internal reporting tool of Salesforce, write and produce all regular and ad-hoc reports that support development, annual fund, alumni, research and communications programs.
• Create project-specific reports, weekly reports, quarterly reports, exception reports, queries, searches, data imports and exports as needed.
• Manage alumni networking systems including content on iModules, Lasell Alumni on Facebook and other social networks.
• Produce all address/information reports requested by Alumni Office, Communications staff and other Lasell departments.
• Create all mailing labels for events, annual appeals, newspaper announcements, and alumni communications.
• Responsible for alumni event attendance reporting and tracking, including online and phone registrations and coding of events.
• Serve as liaison between Communications staff and iModules managed care to send electronic newsletter through iModules.
• Supervise work-study students for data entry.
• Assure data integrity in Salesforce and between iModules and Salesforce systems.
• Provide technical support for DAR staff on Alumni Networking Systems.
• Act as liaison between department and IT for all IA data needs.
• Work with the IT Department to ensure regular database backups, server maintenance and troubleshooting and to coordinate maintenance and installation of computer hardware/software necessary to support the alumni and fundraising database.
• Work with the IT Department to verify the accuracy and efficiency of Development data models.
• Generate donor lists and mailing labels for items such as newsletters and annual reports.
• Assist with reports related to fundraising and stewardship events.
• Train IA staff in use of Salesforce and reporting tools.
• Create documentation of Salesforce/database policies and procedures.
• Facilitate internal communication of donor information and data accuracy and standards in donor prospect management within database.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience with PowerCampus or similar database system (including queries and imports)
• 5-7 years fundraising/development experience - preferably in higher education
• Experience developing reports (simple and complex) from data models using Report Builder 3.0 and SQL and Microsoft Reporting Services
• Demonstrated Experience as a business or system analyst
• Demonstrated Experience with relational database or data models
• Experience with MS Office products
• Strong computer skills
• Familiarity with Vista Views and Report Writer a plus
• Written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Organizational ability and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team
• Comfort working in fast paced and deadline based environment
