| These fields of study focus on human behavior. They seek to understand and explain normal and abnormal behavior, mental ability, development and differences among people. There are many subdivisions and specializations. In general psychology is concerned with individual mental functioning, sociology with the individual’s interactions with groups and institutions and human services with providing assistance to people in handling mental health and social service needs. The content and skills developed in these majors can be applied in social service agencies, educational settings, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, correctional institutions as well as market research, customer service, sales and management. |
