English

This field of study provides a view of language as art, a reflection of culture and as a means of communication. Major topics in literature are explored and there is a focus on the effective use of the English language in communicating ideas and expressing emotions. Any work that involves communicating as its central activity is a potential career area. Preparation for teaching is supported through either an elementary or secondary education concentration. Opportunities are also found in media, business. education, government and non-profit organizations.

Lasell College Wins NEA Grant to Create Online Fashion Design Catalog  Thursday, May 2, 2013Lasell College President Michael B. Alexander announced today that the College is the recipient of a $20,000 2013 National Endowment for the Arts matching grant to assist in the creation of an online fashion design catalog. The Lasell grant proposal was one of 50 grants funded by the NEA in its Art Works Design category.
