Assessments

The Office of Career Services provides several forms of self-assessments to assist you with making more informed career decisions based on your interests, personality type, technical skills, and transferable skills for free.  If you would like more information or you are interested in completing one of these assessments, please contact us at careerservices@lasell.edu or 617-243-2124.

STRONG INTEREST INVENTORYStrong Interest Inventory logo SII

This highly reliable assessment can help students discover their interests, preferences, and personal styles--exactly the information they need to select classes or choose a career they can be passionate about.  It compares the students' results with those of people like them who have already found satisfying careers.  It also generates a list of the top 10 occupations students are most likely to find rewarding (cpp.com).  You can complete the Strong Interest Inventory in about thirty minutes from any computer on or off campus after contacting a staff member in the Office of Career services for the required login and password information.

MYERS BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR (MBTI)

The purpose of this personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people's lives.  The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in the behavior is actually quite orderly and cinsistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment (myersbriggs.org).  The identification of these basic preferences determines a personality type.  This instrument can be completed in about thirty minutes after receiving a copy from the Office of Career Services.

SKILLS ASSESSMENTS

The Career Counselors are trained in assisting students and alumni, through a series of discussions and self-assessment strategies, in analyzing their skills and determining options for utilizing those skills academically and professionally.  If you would like to speak with a Career Counselor about your academic and professional options, both realized and not, please contact the office to schedule an appointment.
