Alumni Profile: Suzie Brown Sherman '05

Vice President, Advisory & Transaction Services, CBRE/New England

Since graduating from Lasell in 2005, Suzie Brown has made significant changes to Boston's evolving real estate market. As part of the CBRE/New England team that brought General Electric to the Seaport District, Brown is immersed in major urban lease deals amid Boston's dramatic market shift.

"We're seeing so many new startups, technology companies, and lots of organic growth in organizations that have been here for years," Brown tells Leaves.

"It's an exciting time in the industry. The cost of office space in Cambridge has made it one of the most expensive submarkets in the country. My work on the downtown brokerage team pairs me with these new ventures and city staples to find them space to work and grow in the Boston market."

Brown used her communication degree to land a sales position at The Warren Group, a family-owned business that analyzes and reports on the New England residential market. She developed a knack for real estate data management and a curiosity for applying that in the field. These skills and curiosities primed her for her current position as vice president of Advisory & Transaction Services at CBRE/New England. As a female leader in a male-dominated industry, Brown prides herself on making strides where she can - most recently as the recipient of the Commercial Brokers Association award for Rising Star of the Year.

"It's important to see women in leadership and executive roles. I feel like I'm creating a name for myself by putting in the work and growing myself within the CBRE brand. I hope that one day I can get to the point where I can mentor other women looking to get into the industry."
