Major: Sports Communication

Minor: Coaching

Why did you choose your major at Lasell?
I've always had a love for sports since I was very young and choosing Sports Communication as a major has allowed me to pursue a career for a passion I hold close to my heart. I would like to work in Sports Journalism or Sports Marketing, and my dream has always been to work for the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, NESN or ESPN.

What was it that brought you to Lasell?
Lasell stuck out to me because it is one of the few schools in the area with a Sports Communication major. I like the proximity of Lasell to Boston, providing the sports atmosphere that Boston offers with Fenway Park, TD Garden, and Gillette in Foxboro.

What activities are you involved in or have been involved in (clubs, activities, athletics, etc.)?
I am a member of the Women's Cross Country and Track & Field teams, The 1851 Chronicle and Lasell College Radio. I also studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland for a semester at Griffith College Dublin where I studied Journalism.

Any internship you may have done?
I interned with the Cotuit Kettleers of The Cape Cod Baseball League for two summers as a Game Day Intern. While I was abroad in Ireland, I had an internship with the Irish Athletic Boxing Association assisting with Sports Marketing and promotions as well as assisting with fights held at The National Stadium.

Favorite class you have taken at Lasell and why?
My favorite class that I have taken at Lasell would be Journalism with Professor Marie Franklin. I learned so much about the field I aspire to work in one day. From skills that are required to write effective journalism to learning to adapt with the different tasks that a journalist must complete while working in the field.

What do you like to do off campus or in Boston?
I like going to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, Newbury Street, The North End and of course attending Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox games.

Do you have an interesting story or great memory from Lasell that you would be willing to share?
A large majority of my time at Lasell is spent with the Men's and Women's Cross Country team. Over the past three years I have gotten to know some of the kindest and most caring people, who I am lucky enough to call my teammates. We have grown to be much more than just a team, we are a family. The last few years at Lasell would be very different had I not decided to take a leap of faith and run Cross Country for the first time as a Freshman. I am forever grateful to my wonderful teammates and all they have done.
