Activities you are or have been involved in (clubs, activities, athletics, etc.):
Resident Assistant, Peer Health Educator, Niños de Veracruz Co-President, Chorus, Jazz Band

Any internship you may have done, or are looking to do:
I did an internship with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs for the state of Massachusetts in the Agricultural Resources Department doing Communications work for them such as writing press releases, tweeting, designing logos and advertisements that will be featured on the commuter rail.

What was it that brought you to Lasell?
I came to Lasell because of the excellent Communications program. I sat in on Media Ethics and Society with Professor Marie Franklin and it was so interesting that I wanted to come to Lasell just so I could take her class. Eventually I did and it was amazing. I was also really drawn to Lasell because of its focus on setting students up in the best possible way to enter their careers. The close proximity to Boston was also extremely appealing because of the easy access to opportunities such as internships.

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Lasell is beautifully landscaped, so any of the outdoor locations are great to hang out in. My favorite thing to do is sit on a blanket on Gardener Hill in the springtime.

Favorite class you have taken at Lasell and why?
My favorite class that I have taken at Lasell was Media Ethics and Society with Professor Marie Franklin. It is a really fascinating subject and Professor Franklin makes it come alive. At the end of the semester we did group projects and my group focused on the ethics in Sports Media, Graphic Design and Advertising. We were one of two groups selected to present at the fall Symposium.

What do you like to do off campus or in Boston?
My favorite place in Boston is Boston Harbor. I love to get a coffee and watch boats sail in and out. The Museum of Science and the Aquarium are two of my other favorite places because of the IMAX theaters.

Give me an interesting story or great memory from Lasell that you would be willing to share with your peers or a tour.
My favorite Lasell experience is the Shoulder-to-Shoulder trip to Veracruz, Mexico. A group of 10 students traveled down for 10 days over Winter break. We built a house, spent time with children at a local school, visited ancient Aztec ruins, and boldly leaped out of our comfort zone when it came to speaking Spanish. Mexico is a truly beautiful place that taught me some lessons that I would have never learned from a textbook. Everyone should go!
