Any internship you may have done, or are looking to do:
Intern at The Silk Road, a fine fabric store right down the road from Lasell College.
What was it that brought you to Lasell?
What brought me to Lasell was its location set within a rural setting, distance outside the city, small class sizes, and the design program.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Odd to say but the first spot that comes to mind is the cafeteria. The last few years it has been a place where everyone meets at the end of the day, jokingly saying its family dinner time. But usually my friends will finish eating and yet be there for another length of time because we all just chatting about the most random things.
Favorite class you have taken at Lasell and why?
My favorite class here at Lasell must have been my Pattern Generation 2 classes my sophomore year. My professor Joan Morris knew just how to lighten the mood whenever she saw that we were all stressed about our garments and due dates. She still does this till today, however that class with her was just special because she let me use my love for sustainable eco-friendly fashion really come out with a garment I made from old jeans found in my family’s closets.
What do you like to do off campus or in Boston?
Whenever we can get into the city as a group usually the first stop is Faneuil Hall for some shopping and food. Also North End is always a section we try and go visit but very rarely get to do. A lot of the time my roommate and I are Boston College Hockey fans and it is 15 minutes down Commonwealth so once in a while we purchase tickets and enjoy a game.
Give me an interesting story or great memory from Lasell that you would be willing to share with your peers or a tour.
I may share the story about how the class sizes maybe shockingly small but it is a great advantage to get to know the members of your major as well as the entire faculty involved in your department. I know that freshman year everyone was scared to make new friends and adventure out to making new friends past their teammates or roommates. However in my major we all started to see we had the same schedules and interest and have all become a very close class. As a result we are actually starting the year off with a dinner out in Boston to catch up on everyone’s summer and exchange stories about our internship experiences this summer.
