EXPERIENCES AT LASELL:
I’m a goal-oriented person. At Lasell College, my professors helped me to focus on my goals, and gave me the guidance to achieve. The small classes allowed me to really connect with my professors. They got to know me as a person: my interests, my strengths and weaknesses, and how I could succeed. The hands-on experience that I got in the classroom and during my internship was invaluable.
With strong direction from my advisors, I pursued an internship in the sports management field. When contacted by the Boston Bruins, I felt I was prepared for the interview process. I was offered an internship in the group sales division, and was excited to accept and use the skills I had acquired at Lasell. I took phone calls from clients and attended events to become familiar with the sales aspect of sports management. When a full-time position became available, I was encouraged to apply and again went through the interview process with senior executives of Boston Bruins and TD Banknorth Garden. The company offered me a position as a Group Sales Account Executive, and I was able to work around my school schedule until I graduated. Lasell gave me the background I needed to achieve the success I was looking for.
