What was one of your most meaningful experiences?
One of the most rewarding experiences was the chance for travel. To some, it may have been overwhelming the opportunity to be able to go anywhere you chose or to go on a weekend trip or a week break within Europe or even anywhere for that matter. For me that was the most thrilling experience; being able to be immerse in the Italian culture as well as be able to travel through Europe. There was so much I had learned about the world from study abroad. A lot of the time, staying in one place and not traveling makes the world feel very small because you get comfortable where you are, however seeing the world makes you want to take every opportunity and keep traveling. I had the chance to travel to 5 different countries within Europe while studying abroad, where as before this experience I had never left the country. It is so rewarding to gain the independence this experience gives you.

Why should Lasell students study abroad?
Students should study abroad to understand the diversity throughout the world as well as the cultures and way of living in different countries of the world. Students should also study abroad to gain independence and to find out who they are.

What is your number one piece of advice for students studying abroad?
Take every chance given to you.  Although it may be out of your comfort zone and something you're not used to, those experiences are some of the best opportunities given to you. The best way for a person to grow and change is to take chances outside of their comfort zone.

What is a typical day in the life when studying abroad?
I only had classes two days a week, and that was taking five classes.  I only had class Tuesdays and Thursdays. This gave me the ability on three days a week to go out and explore Florence and experience the area. Almost every week, I was fortunate to be able to take a weekend trip to a different country.
