What was one of your most meaningful experiences?
My phone was stolen a month before I left. During that time, I had to rely on my knowledge of the city to get around and my responsibilities to keep going to class and not miss any important event. This unfortunate situation allowed me to take the time to appreciate where I was without being distracted by social media. It allowed me to be in the moment. It was probably the best thing that could have happened to me.

Why should Lasell students study abroad?
Lasell students should study abroad because it is a once in a  lifetime experience. Being exposed to a whole new country with a new culture and having to adapt to it makes one very versatile and brings out a new skill set. Being able to study in a beautiful place and have classes that immerse you in their way of learning really broadens your horizons. It makes you more confident and appreciative as to what you have and the opportunity you have been given.

What is your number one piece of advice for students studying abroad?
Make the most of it. Save up as much as you can and travel as much as you can, but also spend as much time as possible in your home city. It will become a part of you, it will become home and you'll miss it once you're gone.

What is a typical day in the life when studying abroad?
I would wake up in the morning around 10:00, make myself breakfast in my apartment to save money, then I would go to class. Depending on the day I would have class late, or early. On the late days I would come back and make dinner with my roommates. On the early days, in the morning I would grab an iced coffee and a bagel from Green Street, an American style cafe that served real iced coffee and was run by the sweetest guy from New Jersey. After class I would come home, do some homework, clean up my apartment, and then have dinner and go hang out at our favorite bar down the street with our neighbors above us. In the beginning we would explore a new part of the city every day and try as many authentic Italian restaurants as we could.
