Chào! - Embarking on an Adventure

December 22, 2016

The group from ECON207A Vietnam Immersion is looking forward to the Shoulder-to-Shoulder trip to Vietnam. We spent the semester preparing by learning history, economics, art, music, and even some language. We had a taste of Vietnam when we were treated to homemade phở from Chef Tran - some of us will need practice with chopsticks! We also toured the contemporary art gallery at David Thomas's home.

While in Da Nang, which is on the central coast of Vietnam, we will be working at SOS Children's Village, where we will be helping the children with English pronunciation. SOS is an international organization. The Village is home to approximately 140 children and services many more children and families in the surrounding area. You can read more about them at ww.sos-childrensvillages.org.

We expect there will be lots of games and playing.

Our adventure will begin with the new year.

Stay tuned for reports and updates.
