Educators & Diversity

In the United States, about 80 to 90 percent of teachers are white, while almost half of the student population are minority students.  Professors in the Education program are making strides to bridge this gap by using the latest technological tools, creating specific ELL programs, and participating in state-funded grant programs.

EPIC (Elevate Preparation: Impact Children)

The Lasell College EPIC program creates pathways for diverse undergraduate students who will be invested in serving as educators in their local communities.

Bilingual/English Learners with Disabilities (ELL/SPED)

Lasell College Graduate and Professional Studies offers a Bilingual/English Learners with Disabilities (ELL/SPED) certificate to provide post-baccalaureate students with the knowledge and skills in the Professional Standards for Teachers required by the state of Massachusetts to maintain their licensure requirements for serving English language learners with or without special education needs and students with disabilities who are not English learners.

At Lasell, we prepare teachers by providing the curriculum that addresses cultural diversity and responsive practices.
