Athletic Training & Exercise Science Internships
Certified Athletic Trainers are involved in the care, prevention, evaluation and rehabilitation of injuries to athletes and the physically active. Athletic Trainers are recognized by the American Medical Association as Allied Health Professionals, and are employed in numerous settings including high schools, colleges and universities, professional sports, sports medicine clinics, industrial medicine settings, hospitals, and the military. Sports scientists are knowledgeable in the areas of human performance, fitness, and conditioning. As members of the health care community, they are dedicated to health enhancement and are responsible for the development and coordination of exercise programs as well as the training and education of patients and clients. Using exercise as a preventative measure or a rehabilitative tool, sports scientists work in a variety of settings including public schools, hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, fitness centers, and research institutions.
