Sport Management
The Sport Management Department offers courses and majors in the areas of sports and physical activity, as well as a minor in Coaching, in conjunction with the Athletic Training and Exercise Science Department. Sport Management is involved with the management and organization of the whole sporting experience. The Sport Management Department works with students to find local internships dealing with their major. Below are some examples.

Providence Bruins (Pro Hockey – AHL) Students worked with the ticketing operations department, worked with company databases, and worked at games. New England Riptide (Women’s Pro Fast-Pitch Softball) Students worked on daily operations, including game days, and were involved in all aspects of the organizational operations. Massachusetts Special Olympics Internship involved research, preparation for major sporting events (cycling, winter games, etc.) and public relations. Northeastern University Athletic Department Student was involved in Marketing and Promotions, game day operations and events, and sports information. Mass Premier Soccer Internship involved working at soccer camps, working with databases, and scheduling for sport facilities. Ocean City (MD.) Recreation and Parks Department Internship involved program development and operations, and projects with Marketing and Promotions.
