During her tenure as a laboratory research scientist, Dr. Hall-Porter’s efforts focused on the effects of the female sex steroid hormone, estrogen on the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and heart failure. Most recently, Dr. Hall-Porter served as a contributing author and reviewer for a major publisher of anatomy and physiology textbooks.

Prior to joining the faculty as Lasell College, Dr. Hall-Porter served as an assistant professor of biology at Dean College in Franklin, Mass. She is a member of the Community Board of Directors for the Whittier Street Community Health Center in Boston.

What is important for your students to take away from your classes?

“Because anatomy and physiology courses traditionally focus on one body system at a time, I strive to provide an educational experience that emphasizes the integrative nature of the structure and function of the human body. I have found that this approach compels students to engage with the course material in new and exciting ways.”
