Humanities Majors

The Humanities Department offers three majors:

English Major
An English Major provides students with a view of language as art, a reflection of culture and as a means of communication. Students majoring in English can choose from two concentrations: Creative Writing and Literature. Major topics in literature are explored, and the program focuses on the effective use of the English language in communicating ideas and expressing emotions.

History Major
The History Major program focuses on the study and research of major social, political, cultural and economic events of the past. Students develop an understanding of how past events have shaped the contemporary world is fostered.

  • Public Administrator

The Humanities Major focuses on the diverse ways in which people have communicated ideas about arts and human relations. Program study focuses on the development of knowledge and skills in research, analysis, communications and writing are fostered.

Lasell College Wins NEA Grant to Create Online Fashion Design Catalog  Thursday, May 2, 2013Lasell College President Michael B. Alexander announced today that the College is the recipient of a $20,000 2013 National Endowment for the Arts matching grant to assist in the creation of an online fashion design catalog. The Lasell grant proposal was one of 50 grants funded by the NEA in its Art Works Design category.
