Biography:
Hortense Gerardo is interested in the intersection of artistic identity and economic survivability and is a professional consultant to several local arts organizations. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Yamawaki Arts Center at Lasell, and is the director of a charitable organization that specializes in promoting the work of emerging artists across several performance disciplines.

In addition to her work in cultural anthropology, Hortense is a professional playwright and screenwriter. She is the recipient of several artist grants and professional development awards, and her work has been produced by theatre and independent film companies abroad as well as in the United States.

Lasell College Wins NEA Grant to Create Online Fashion Design Catalog  Thursday, May 2, 2013Lasell College President Michael B. Alexander announced today that the College is the recipient of a $20,000 2013 National Endowment for the Arts matching grant to assist in the creation of an online fashion design catalog. The Lasell grant proposal was one of 50 grants funded by the NEA in its Art Works Design category.
