Minors/Concentrations

The Communications Department offers a Communication Minor and a Sports Communication Minor (in conjunction with the Sport Management Department). A Minor provides students the opportunity to deepen their understanding and expertise in an additional area of study. A 2.0 [C] average must be maintained within a Minor program of study in order to receive the Minor, with some programs having additional earned-grade requirements.

 

Communication Minor
The Communication minor consists of five courses.

Minor Requirements:
15 credits

COM 103 Introduction to Human Communication 3

Choose three from the following list:

COM 203 Effective Speaking 3
COM 205 Media and Society 3
COM 209 Journalism 3

SMGT 202 Ethics in Sport 3

Choose three additional COM or SMGT courses
9 credits
At least one course must be a COM course; at least one course must be a SMGT course.

Lasell College Wins NEA Grant to Create Online Fashion Design Catalog  Thursday, May 2, 2013Lasell College President Michael B. Alexander announced today that the College is the recipient of a $20,000 2013 National Endowment for the Arts matching grant to assist in the creation of an online fashion design catalog. The Lasell grant proposal was one of 50 grants funded by the NEA in its Art Works Design category.
