Center for Community-Based Learning
Lasell College’s Center for Community-Based Learning (CCBL) provides support and opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and community organizations to engage in mutually beneficial projects.
CCBL works with faculty to integrate service-learning as a crucial component of the connected-learning concept at Lasell College. CCBL assists faculty in designing and implementing community service-learning projects and courses across the curriculum.
For students, the community involvement deepens academic learning; promotes values of citizenship; provides practical, project-focused experience; and develops initiatives that make a direct and lasting contribution to local communities.
The CCBL has developed partnerships with a variety of organizations in Newton and the metropolitan Boston area, including public schools at all levels, numerous mentoring programs, agencies serving survivors of abuse, economically disadvantaged populations, parks and recreation programs, and many others.
