Ruth Paetz Braun Undergraduate Connected Learning Awards
The Ruth Paetz Braun Undergraduate Connected Learning Awards Program at Lasell College is made possible through the generous support of Ruth Paetz Braun, class of 1954, in honor of her 50th reunion from Lasell College. The purpose of this program is to support annual writing and/or oral presentation awards for undergraduate students in conjunction with the College’s annual Connected Learning Symposium in April of each year.
Four $100 prizes were awarded for student writing in the following categories:
- Two papers written for an assignment in a 100 level course
- A Paper written for an assignment in a 200 or 300 level course
- A Paper written for an assignment in a 400 level course
The winners are announced in a special session of the Lasell College Connected Learning Symposium where they read short passages and describe the experience of writing their papers.
The first Braun writing awards were made for the 2004/2005 academic year in Spring 2005. In the first year of the program, three $100 prizes were awarded for student writing. In Spring 2007, four $100 prizes were awarded for student writing in the 2006/2007 academic year. The winners also receive a certificate of achievement.
