On Thursday, May 4th, we will be holding our annual family barbecue/ potluck dinner from 5:00-7:00 on the playground. We will be serving barbecue chicken and pizza, and we ask that you sign up to bring in a dessert, salad, beverage, etc. Please see the sign-up sheets in each of the classrooms. This year we have invited the families whose children will be entering Rockwell in September. Please join us in welcoming them to our community.

Also, this year, we will be holding a silent auction. Items include great classroom bags, Red Sox tickets, and "play dates" with teachers and director. Proceeds from the auction will be used to improve our three playground sandboxes, and to benefit our scholarship and professional development funds.

Cost for the BBQ is $25 per family (cash please) to cover the cost of the chicken and pizza. There are envelopes available in the red box on top of the cubbies by the driveway door. Please make sure to write your name and the number of people attending on the envelope.

Summer program balances are due on May 5th, and statements will be going home shortly. Summer program begins on June 5th and goes through June 30th. Please note that there is a week off between the end of school and the start of the summer program. There are still spots available if you are interested, and have not yet signed up your child.

On Friday, May 26th, we will have our traditional All School End-of-the-Year Family Picnic at 11:30 on the playground. This will be preceded in the Four-Year-Old class and the Transition Kindergarten by graduation ceremonies. Please check with your child's teachers for the exact times. All three classrooms are invited to bring a blanket and picnic lunch and join us on the playground. (There is no extended day program that day.) We look forward to seeing all of you there!

We have been blessed with a wonderful volunteer from Lasell Village once again this year: Mrs. Eastman, in the three-year-old class. She, as always, has been an amazing asset to our program. Thank you, Carolyn!! We would also like to thank all of the Lasell students who volunteered, did pre-practicums, or who were employed at Rockwell this year. They have added a wonderful dimension to our program, and the children (and teachers) have really enjoyed having them here. We hope that they will consider returning to Rockwell in the future.

Please see flyers posted on the playground door for any new community event information that we receive.

It is hard to believe that the school year is almost over. It has been our pleasure to love, learn, play, and work with your children. We are grateful for your kind and generous support throughout the year. We wish all of the children who are going off to new schools happy, healthy and successful school years, and look forward to seeing our returning children in the fall.
