Rockwell Parent News
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who attended the Parent Night on Tuesday, October 21st. We had a great turn out for this event and it was fun to meet with all of you to talk about your child’s preschool experience at Rockwell. The Teachers at Rockwell work very hard to ensure that your child gets the best preschool education and we want to thank you for supporting their efforts.

ORIGINGAL WORKS FUNDRAISER
We are currently in the midst of our Original Works Fundraiser. You should have already received your child’s work of art. You may order many different kinds of items with your child’s work on them. We have a few extra art papers and order forms available if you are interested in having other children at home participate.
Our annual Harvest Feasts in the 4-year-old class and the Transition Kindergarten class will be held on Friday, November 21st. The fours at 8:30 am and the TK at 11:45 am. The Three-year-olds will hold their Harvest Feasts on Tuesday, November 25th at 8:30 am. The children will be baking and cooking for several days, and invite their families to enjoy “the fruits of their labor” at a breakfast or luncheon feast. You will receive more specific information from your child’s classroom.
We look forward to seeing you there – don’t forget to bring you appetite!
Parent/teacher conferences will begin this week and will continue for the next few weeks. Please double check your scheduled time and be prompt so that others will not have to wait Also, please remember to return your Parental Goals form to your child’s teacher several days before your conference day. Thanks!
Contracts for next year will be sent home this month. We are starting to receive applications and scheduling tours, and it will help me to know how many spaces are available for next year. Contracts are due back on Friday, December 5th.
This year we had a waitlist for our three-year-old class, so if you have friends or family who are thinking about Rockwell for next year, please let them know that enrollment has begun. Thank you for your help in this matter.
OH, NO! NOT SNOW!
As much as we may not want to think about it, you should know that Rockwell follows Lasell College for weather closings. If the college is closed or delayed by one hour, we will also be closed or delayed by one hour (open time of 9:30). If there is a 2-hour or more delay, we may close for the day.
Please listen to WBZ 1030AM on your radio, or TV channels 4, 5, and 7 for information, or there will also be a message on the school phone indicating whether we are closed or delayed for the day. Lasell College Snow Line will also tell you if the college is closed. That number is
During the week of November 17th, boxes will be available in each class to collect non-perishable food items. The food will be taken to the Newton food pantry. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
If you ordered school photos, you should have received an email from Nicki Pardo with directions for choosing your child’s photo.
As you already know, Rockwell is a nut free school. I am also going to ask that you refrain from using food coloring in your special snack. It is believed by many that food dye may have harmful effects on our health. Please consider natural food coloring when adding color to Thursday or birthday snacks.
