Rockwell Parent News

November 2017

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who attended the Parent's Night at the beginning of October.  We had great turn outs and it was fun to meet with all of you to talk about your child's preschool experience at Rockwell. The Teachers at Rockwell work very hard to ensure that your child gets the best preschool education and I want to thank you for supporting their efforts.

The Three-year-olds will hold their Harvest Feasts on Tuesday, November 22nd at 8:30 am. The children will be baking and cooking for several days, and invite their families to enjoy "the fruits of their labor" at a breakfast or luncheon feast.  You will receive more specific information from your child's classroom. We look forward to seeing you there - don't forget to bring you appetite!

2018-2019 CONTRACTS

You will soon be receiving next year's contracts. I know that it seems early, but we are beginning to receive applications and doing tours, and it will help me to know how many spaces are available for next year.  This is especially important for children going into our older preschool (4's).  If you have a child coming or returning to Rockwell for the 2018-19 school year, please return your contract by Friday, December 1st.

We will be closed Wednesday, November 22nd through Friday, November 24th for the Thanksgiving holiday.

As much as we may not want to think about it, we need to mention that Rockwell follows Lasell College for weather closings.  If the college is closed or delayed by one hour, we will also be closed or delayed by one hour (open time at 9:30).  However, if there is a 2-hour or more delay, please check your email or call us at 617-243-2355 for delay or cancellation information.

Please listen to WBZ 1030AM on your radio, or TV channels 4 or 5 for Lasell College information.  You may also go to, and the cancellation notice will be posted there.  Again, I will also leave a message on the school phone indicating that we are closed or delayed for the day (617-243-2355).

Parent/teacher conferences will be held on Friday, November 10th.  Child care for the time of your conference will be provided by Miss Gabby and Miss Mackenzie.  Please double check your scheduled time and be prompt so that families after you will not have to wait.  Also, if you haven't done so already, please remember to return your Parental Goals form to your child's teachers.  Thanks!

Thank you to all who joined us for Witchapalooza. Some great costumes, beautifully decorated cupcakes and super music and singing with Ms. Brenda from Imagine and Move made for a very fun night! If there were prizes given for the night, my vote would have gone to Aymee Manosh (Landon's Mom) and Matt Kuronen (Hannah's Dad) for finding a missing tooth (of all things!). Aymee found it on the floor right in the middle of bubbles and "Ghost Busters". When this same tooth went missing again, Matt found it outside! Both times it was like looking for a needle in the haystack. You guys saved the day - you should have dressed up as super heroes!

 -       During the week of December 4th, we will hold our annual "Mitten Tree" drive. We will be collecting new mittens, hats, and scarves to be donated to a local charity.  "Trees" or boxes will be located in each classroom.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.

-       Our annual Holiday Brunch will be held on Saturday, December 9th from 9:30 to 11:00 am.   Please mark your calendars.  More info to come....

Community news that we receive throughout the month will also be posted on our playground door. We wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving!
