Rockwell Parent News
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who attended the Parent Night on Thursday, October 8th. We had a great turn out for this event and it was fun to meet with all of you to talk about your child’s preschool experience at Rockwell. The Teachers at Rockwell work very hard to ensure that your child gets the best preschool education and we want to thank you for supporting their efforts.

Our annual Harvest Feasts in the Transition Kindergarten (11:30) and Four-year-old classes (8:30) will be held on Friday, November 20th. The Three-year-olds will hold their Harvest Feasts on Tuesday, November 24nd at 8:30 am. The children will be baking and cooking for several days, and invite their families to enjoy “the fruits of their labor” at a breakfast or luncheon feast. You will receive more specific information from your child’s classroom.
We look forward to seeing you there – don’t forget to bring you appetite!
You will soon be receiving next year’s contracts. We are receiving many applications and doing several tours, and it will help me to know how many spaces are available for next year. If you have a child coming or returning to Rockwell for the 2016-17 school year, please return your contract by Tuesday, November 17th.
We will be closed Wednesday, November 25th through Friday, November 27th for the Thanksgiving holiday.
On Sunday, November 15th we will be holding an open house from 1:00 to 2:00 for new families for the 2016-17 school year. If you know of any families that are looking for preschools for the coming year, please encourage them to attend our Open House or to call Kathi at 617-243-2355. Thanks!
Many thanks for all your Halloween candy donations, and a special thanks goes out to Julie Samra for organizing this for us.
As much as we may not want to think about it, we need to mention that Rockwell follows Lasell College for weather closings. If the college is closed or delayed by one hour, we will also be closed or delayed by one hour (open time at 9:30). However, if there is a 2-hour or more delay, please check your email or call us at 617-243-2355 for delay or cancellation information.
Please listen to WBZ 1030AM on your radio, or TV channels 4, 5, and 7 for Lasell College information. Again, we will also leave a message on the school phone indicating that we are closed or delayed for the day (617-243-2355).
Parent/teacher conferences are ongoing. Please double check your scheduled time and be prompt so that others will not have to wait. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please remember to return your Parental Goals form to your child’s teachers. Thanks!
WINTER EXTENDED DAY
We are going to be offering an Imagine and Move program with Brenda Callahan starting in January. We are considering offering two 30 minute sessions: one at 12:30 and another at 1:00. We don’t want to do two sessions unless there is enough interest, so if you could please let me know your thoughts I would appreciate it. Cost for the 8 week program would be $80 per child. Thank You!
COMING IN DECEMBER
- During the week of November 30th, we will hold our annual “Mitten Tree” drive. We will be collecting mittens, hats, and scarves to be donated to a local charity. “Trees” or boxes will be located in each classroom. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
- Our annual Holiday Brunch with Santa photos will be held on Saturday, December 12th from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Please mark your calendars. More info to come….
