Access Services:

  • Our main desk attendants, greeting you, answering your calls, and providing general information
  • Check-out and check-in of Library materials, including handling overdue fees and account holds
  • Maintenance of the Library space, keeping our shelves in order and the atmosphere pleasant

Reference and Instruction Services:

  • Research guidance for courses or individuals, in person or remote, on demand or by appointment
  • LibGuides providing 24/7/365 tutorials on broad and specific topics, how-to instruction, and custom-made guides for courses
  • Academic Library Liaisons for all programs, connecting Librarians with faculty for planning purchases, improving our collections, and learning about each department's needs and priorities

Technical Services:

  • Behind-the-scenes Librarians ordering, receiving, and processing everything the Library acquires
  • Management of course reserves for faculty, and the integation of Library resources into course Moodle pages
  • Interlibrary Loan service, free of charge, providing Lasell students, faculty and staff with information resources not found in-house
  • Organization of electronic resources including e-books, full-text journal databases, and streaming video, making the "virtual library" easy to use and accessible all the time from nearly anywhere
