Mexico Shoulder to Shoulder
Students can earn four credits – two weeks on the ground study and service in Mexico during January is preceded by a course which immerses students in the study of the history, diverse peoples, and cultures of Mexico, and combines research, presentations, and papers with service on campus. The field experience in Mexico includes individual home stays with Mexican families, intensive manual labor, and reflective intellectual work.

Nicaragua Shoulder to Shoulder
This international service-learning experience incorporates volunteer work for literacy, public health, and social justice. A spring trip to San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua provides opportunities for students to work side by side with community members, gain understanding through cultural exchange, and participate in reflection and academic exercises examining poverty and development. Student participants also design a related academic component in conjunction with one of their spring courses.
