Lasell College has completed construction of a dramatic new student Campus Center to meet the needs of the College's burgeoning student population. The College has experienced unprecedented growth over the last few years, with current enrollment exceeding 1100 undergraduate and graduate students.
The Campus Center -- designed to provide a spectacular focal point for the campus community -- is the College's fifth new building in five years. It opened in September of 2004.
"The new facility strengthens the sense of community we have on the Lasell campus," says James Tweed, director of admission. "Now students can come sit by the fireplace and relax, hang-out with friends over a cup of gourmet coffee, or listen to a live musical performance during 'open mike night' -- all at Lasell's new Campus Center."
This state-of-the-art facility provides the campus community with a host of options for gathering, working, studying, enjoying live performances, and dining.
Featuring Jazzman's Café, a unique coffee house offering coffees, pastries, gourmet sandwiches, salads, soups, and specialty drinks, the contemporary first floor alternative dining area is open during the day and well into the night. At the Campus Center dining area, students are able to enjoy Strutter's-- America's grill favorites - including chicken wings, chicken fingers, burgers and favorite late-night classics – fries, pizza, buffalo wings, and mozzarella sticks.
Set within an open gathering area, the first floor space includes an intimate stage for student performances and a fireplaced sitting area for studying or socializing with friends.
The Campus Center's first floor is also home to the College's all new Donahue Campus Bookstore – selling all the essential Lasell gear!
The Campus Center's second floor abounds with student activity. Surrounding large, modular conference areas available for presentations, performances, or learning labs, are a bank of offices housing student clubs and organizations -- including the Performing Arts Council, and many more.
The third floor provides yet another new residential living option for Lasell students and features special interest housing for approximately 22 residents. An underground parking facility connects to the recently completed Bragdon residence hall.
Lasell's new Campus Center is part of the handsome and functional Bragdon quad, and proves, once again, that Lasell is a small college that thinks BIG!
