ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

The Assistant/Associate Director of International and Multicultural Admission will provide strategic leadership and direction to exceed the college’s international and multicultural enrollment goals; and will manage outcome assessment of all international and multicultural recruitment efforts.   Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admission, the Assistant/Associate Director of International and Multicultural Admission will assist in the creation and execution of the college’s integrated marketing campaign; engage in long-term planning, as well as, manage resources specific to international and multicultural recruitment.  Also, the Assistant/Associate Director of International and Multicultural Admission will represent the College on international and domestic recruiting trips.

As the Assistant/Associate Director of International and Multicultural Admission, he/she will also provide research and analysis to effectively manage international and multicultural recruitment.   He/She will counsel prospective students and parents throughout the college application and selection process; assist guidance professionals, educational agents, faculty, and alumni/ae to better understand the college’s mission through personal interviews, group presentations, and extensive follow-up communication.  The Assistant/Associate Director of International and Multicultural Admission will conduct thorough application review of all admissions materials (including all foreign credentials), provide admission decisions in a timely fashion, and lead related committees.  All while representing the college with the utmost of professionalism.  The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with various college departments to build and maintain the necessary on-campus infrastructure to recruit and retain students from under-represented populations both domestically and abroad. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred, and between three (3) and five (5) years of progressive experience evidence by increased responsibility working in admissions or in higher education with a focus on International student recruitment.  Must have demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills and the ability to execute several key projects simultaneously; experience working independently and as part of a team.  Excellent communication and presentation skills are required, and candidates must demonstrate acute attention to detail, strong organization and problem solving abilities.  Recruitment travel, evening and weekend commitments are required, as well as participation in state and national professional organizations.  A familiarity with immigration procedures and SEVIS, working knowledge of Recruitment Plus (enrollment management software), MS Professional, the internet, and experience evaluating foreign educational credentials are beneficial.  Flexibility, dedication, confidentiality, and the ability to take initiative are critically important, as well as a commitment to Lasell College’s educational mission and core values.

WEB CONTENT PRODUCER

Lasell College is seeking a Web Content Producer to join the Department of Internet and Web Communications.   This position will report to the Director of Internet and Web Communication in the division Enrollment Management.

Responsibilities:  Writes, edits and manages content for Lasell College's Web presence.   This will include a variety of web communication pieces, covering every facet of Lasell College, from student stories, athletic accomplishments, alumni undertakings, enrollment management focused and academic specific programs.  Also creates best practices and writing standards, and Web style documents with emphasis on clarity and conciseness. Qualifications:  A bachelor's degree is preferred.  Three years experience writing, producing and managing content for an online medium. ASSISTANT REGISTRAR
Lasell College seeks applications for the position of Assistant Registrar.  A private four-year coed institution with enrollment of 1,300, the College welcomes applications for this twelve-month position reporting to the Registrar.

Responsibilities:  The Assistant Registrar works with the Registrar in the management, enhancement and implementation of the Registrar’s Office, computer systems and applications.  Duties include, but are not limited to, the production of the master schedule of courses along with room assignments, assist with posting of transfer credits, serve as the liaison with the graduate program handling the flow of information among administrative offices, monitor calendar due dates for 6-week registration periods and related tasks, follow up with graduate students on Stop-Out and Leave of Absence; as well as assisting with undergraduate registration periods and collection of final grades, and ensuring implementation of academic policies and procedures.

HEALTH EDUCATOR/CLINICAL COUNSELOR 
Working within a student development framework, the professionals in the Office of Student Affairs at Lasell College strive to create an environment wherein students’ learning is supported and their individual growth is enhanced.  The Counseling Center currently has an opening for a talented individual to join the Student Affairs department as a Health Educator/Clinical Counselor.     

The Health Educator/Clinical Counselor position is a newly created, 10- month position (September - May, and four weeks in the summer, TBD) that reports to the Director of the Counseling Center.  The preferred candidate would be available to join the Lasell College community in September 2008, (at the beginning of the 2008-09 academic year), or shortly thereafter.   

Responsibilities:  Oversight and facilitation of the College’s AlcoholEdu Program including:  initial communications with incoming students and their families, promotion of the program during the orientation sessions and in the First Year Seminar course, the creation and promotion of social norms programming for students, and consultation with staff and faculty; devising and presenting programs on various health-related topics; in conjunction with colleagues throughout the College, coordination of outreach programming on health education and wellness issues; promotion of health-related campus-wide activities with students, faculty and staff; and a limited clinical counseling case load (as determined by the Director of Counseling).  It is anticipated that this individual will collaborate extensively with the staff in the Health Services Office, the Athletics Department, and the Office of Residential Life.   

Qualifications:  A master’s degree in counseling, higher education, public health, psychology or social work is required, as well as a minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience in developing and delivering education and programming,  around issues of alcohol and substance abuse.  Preferred candidates will have professional experience in a college or university setting; and will demonstrate a sound knowledge base in student development, adolescent and young adult development.  Review of resumes will begin immediately.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL GIVING


The Assistant Director of Annual Giving manages the Phonathon program, oversees the Senior Class Gift program and assists with the Annual Giving program including database management and direct mail pieces.  The position is an integral part of the Institutional Advancement fundraising team and participates in all regular meetings with the fundraising staff.  This position reports to the Director of Annual Giving.

Essential Responsibilities:
Phonathon Program
-  Develop program, appropriate goals and materials for
      Phonathon
-  Develop and implement solicitation strategy for all
      constituencies through the Phonathon program
-  Maintain the efficient process for organizing and
      managing the   program
-  Enter pledges into the system, distribute timely pledge
      reminders based on the Annual Giving mail schedule,
      input all data collected by student callers
-  Recruit, train and supervise student phoners  
-  Analyze and report on weekly progress
-  Generate phonathon cards for each constituency, each
      following a specific mail piece
-  Manage phonathon budget
-  Conduct performance reviews with students to assess
     progress

Senior Class Gift
-  Develop the 2009 Senior Class Gift committee
-  Coordinate mail pieces to all on-campus and local
     addresses of graduating seniors
-  Work with Student Activities to have a presence at all
     Senior events and to attend Senior Class Committee
     meetings to get student leaders on board
-  Create a Facebook page for Senior Class Gift and update
     it regularly

Database management
- Develop proficiency on Fund-Al database system and
     Crystal Reports
- Build and maintain Annual Giving queries and reports
- Process daily Phonathon pledges and implement all
     information from phone cards, including address changes,
     marital information and any additional information
- Generate weekly/monthly reports (with Annual Giving
     director)  
-  Ongoing updates of address/biographical information

     and phone numbers
-  Assist the Director of Annual Giving in the conversion to
      a new database system within the next 4-8 months

Secondary Responsibilities:

   stores to be used as prizes for the Phonathon

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
Office of Institutional Advancement
To provide strategic leadership for the communication and public relations efforts of Lasell College and Lasell Village through print, broadcast and electronic media, special events and other initiatives.  To evaluate and strengthen the College’s position and reputation regionally among peer academic institutions, alumni, prospective students and employees through public relations strategies that highlight the academic program and the College’s distinctive pedagogy.  To design and implement an aggressive media relations effort. To demonstrate good news judgment and outstanding public relations and journalism skills, to cultivate relationships that advance the College, and to create materials that reflect positively on the College.  To develop and oversee communications policies.  To advise senior management when necessary regarding public relations matters both on and off-campus.  Reports to Dean for Institutional Advancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan and implement a comprehensive public relations program to promote the College’s mission and strategic plan, with special emphasis on media relations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key media representatives.
• In conjunction with academic and administrative departments, develop a plan for indentifying and pitching trend stories and unique faculty and student stories to local, regional and national media outlets.
• Seek opportunities for positioning the College in regional and national publications for gaining increased name recognition and exposure.
• Coordinate and direct news and photographic coverage of campus events involving students, parents, faculty, staff, trustees, alumni and Lasell Village residents.
• Serve as Managing Editor and writer for Leaves, a biannual alumni newsletter.
• Provide editorial support and copywriting for internal and external publications, including the Annual Report of the President.
• Design and implement crisis communication plans.
• Collaborate with Director of Web Communications and the Web Council to ensure continuity of the College’s message on the Web site.
• Work directly with outside public relations counsel to build brand equity and enhance the image of the institution.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in Communications in the field of higher education; familiarity with institutional advancement preferred.

AREA COORDINATOR

Lasell College is a 155-year old private, coeducational institution of higher education, located in the village of Auburndale, MA.   The College has approximately 1200 full-time undergraduate students, and a small part-time graduate student population.  There are 23 residential buildings on campus, many of which are converted Victorian homes.  Approximately 80% of the undergraduate population resides in campus housing.

The Area Coordinator position, a twelve-month position including a furnished apartment and a board plan (available during the academic year), reports to the Director of Residential Life/Judicial Coordinator. 

Responsibilities:  The Area Coordinator works with all of the professional Residential Life staff (seven in total) to create a residential experience at Lasell College that is supportive of the College’s academic mission, and contributes to the healthy development of the students in residence.  Serving as key educators in the Lasell community, the Area Coordinator’s general responsibilities include:  training and supervision of Resident Assistant staff; educational programming; building a community atmosphere through meaningful interactions with the students in residence; serving as an administrative hearing officer in the College’s judicial system; weekend and week-night on-call duty; and participation in special projects in Residential Life (and Student Affairs) as determined.  The Area Coordinator will supervise an undergraduate Resident Assistant staff of six members, and will oversee a residential area of the campus, comprising five residential buildings and housing approximately 225 students.

CAREER COUNSELOR

The Assistant Dean of Student Affairs position is a twelve-month position that reports to the Dean of Student Affairs.  It is anticipated that the individual hired to assume this newly created position will join the Lasell College community as soon as possible, but no later than July 1, 2008. 

Responsibilities:  working with the Dean, specific responsibilities of the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs include: 
• assisting the Dean in the overall administration and coordination of the Student Affairs units including:  Athletics; Career Services; the Center for Spiritual Life; the Counseling Center; Health Services; Residential Life; and Student Activities and Orientation;
• providing primary leadership and direct oversight to the College’s judicial system including:  serving as an Administrative Hearing Officer; training and supervising professional staff who serve as Hearing Officers; recruiting, training, and supervising student members of the Community Board and Judicial Board; providing direct support to the Judicial Board; compiling and analyzing judicial data;

• participating in a rotating “on call” emergency back-up schedule with the Dean of Student Affairs; and
• representing Student Affairs on various campus-wide committees and task forces.

Qualifications:  A master’s degree in an appropriate discipline (eg.  higher education; student development; counseling) is required, along with a minimum 2 – 5 years pertinent student development experience in a 4-year college or university setting.  Preferred candidates will have:  previous managerial experience; familiarity and experience in judicial affairs; excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently; and a demonstrated comfort with working in a high-traffic, fast-paced environment.
