New Student Orientation Programs

We are excited that you have decided to join our community. We have four different Orientation programs here at Lasell College: Laser Link Orientation and Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend for first year students planning to start in the fall, Laser Transfer Transitions in August for transfer students planning to start in the fall, and Lasell Laser Winter Orientation for those students planning to start in January. The Office of Student Activities is located in the Arnow Campus Center, on the 2nd floor, and is open Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. Laser Link Orientation, our June program, is a two-day overnight program that introduces students to Lasell and all the resources available to help you be successful. Students attending this program will meet many of their classmates, members of the faculty and staff, learn about meal plans, housing options and select courses for the fall. In 2012, we will offer four summer sessions: June 18 & 19, June 21 & 22, June 25 & 26, and June 28 & 29. On Day 1 of each session student check-in takes place from 8:30 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. The program will be completed around 3:30 P.M. on Day 2. New Students will receive additional information in the Welcome Packet which is mailed to all deposited students after May 1, 2012.

Parent and Family Orientation is a program that complements Laser Link Orientation. A variety of information sessions and other events are planned for your visit. Registration for Parent and Family Orientation is processed concurrently with your student's registration for Laser Link Orientation if you choose to participate.

A full day Parent and Family Orientation is offered concurrently with Laser Link Orientation on Day 2 of the program: June 19, June 22, June 26, and June 29. Check-in for Parent and Family Orientation takes place from 8:30 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. An optional Financial Information session will take place from 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. and  the formal program will begin at 10:00 A.M. The entire program runs from 8:30 A.M. - 3:00 P.M., with optional campus tours offered at the conclusion of the day. The cost is $15 per person (which includes lunch).

Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend is the second portion of our Orientation program for new students. This three-day program takes place just before classes start in September from September 1-3, 2012. During Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend you will learn how to navigate the Lasell campus as well as the great city of Boston. Part of this program is focused on adjusting to your new community, learning where your classes will take place, meeting with faculty members and discussing your common reading. You will also have the opportunity to explore Boston with faculty and staff members and/or join the first year class on an evening cruise of Boston Harbor. Students will learn more about Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend during Laser Link Orientation and registration information will be available in mid August.

Laser Transfer Transitions, is scheduled for August 15, 2012. All students transferring to Lasell College will have the opportunity to meet classmates and members of the faculty and staff during the program. In addition, students will choose their courses for the fall and learn about dining options, housing options, and information technology.

Lasell Laser Winter Orientation takes place each January, and is focused on helping you adjust to Lasell College, meeting faculty, staff, and other students, and assisting you in the course registration process. More information about Lasell Laser Winter Orientation 2013 will be available in the fall.
