Biography:
Mimi Reddicliffe recently developed the text “Learning From Student Writers” for first year writing students at Lasell College. It focuses on using Lasell student writing as its central teaching tool. She has published articles and presented papers on the pedagogy of writing. Her other professional interests include war literature, film, and writing fiction. She published the short story, "The Day My Life Fell Apart" in the Knight Literary Journal and has presented papers on both film and war literature at national conferences.
Prior to teaching at Lasell College, Mimi taught at the Ohio State University, Franklin University, and Babson College. She also worked in the Learning Assistance program at Boston University.
What is your teaching philosophy for Lasell courses?
"I want students to learn to read closely so that they understand the views, beliefs, and theories of others and to learn to write well so that others comprehend their ideas and concepts. In my classes teaching is a continuous dialog that requires me to listen carefully to students in order to help them accomplish these goals."
