Biography:
Joe Potts' scholarly interests are centered upon the relationships between capital markets, economic growth, and the impacts upon societies. A second interest is the study of business history and the role of management in the evolution of modern business. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Professor Potts spent more than two decades in the investment banking and investment management industry in Boston and New York City. He has written for several journals on economics and finance, and he is currently a master's candidate in global studies and international affairs at Northeastern University.

Joe Potts and his wife have conducted marriage preparation classes throughout the Boston area for engaged couples for the past twenty-four years. He is also a vocalist with the Lasell College Jazz Ensemble.

What do you like about teaching?
"There is no greater satisfaction for a professor than to see the delight in the eyes of students when their curiosity is peeked through the give and take of the classroom. The ensuing discussions and sharing of this curiosity become the process of learning and the beginning of critical thinking."
